Lady’s Mantle (Yarrow)

Make a strong tea using Lady’s Mantle, dip a cotton ball into the warm tea and apply
onto the affected area.
Repeat this procedure several times during the day as needed.
(Do not reuse the cotton ball, use a clean one each time.)

Nightshade

In the Roman Empire, the ladies used their juice to beautify and  there is the origin of its nickname (belladona= beautiful woman).
Boil 30gr of leaves in 1lt of water, and wash the sensitive area with the infusion cold, three
times a day.

Bitter Gourd

The use of the juice of Bitter Gourd Leaves is highly recommended in hemorrhoids.
The Bitter Gourd Leaves Juice increase peristalsis(movement) helping easy defecation and complete evacuation of the bowels. Bitter Gourd Leaves Juice stimulate peristalsis-preventing
formation of hard stools .This prevents bleeding from the inflamed anal veins.
Crush and extract 1 tsp of fresh Bitter Gourd leaves juice.Drink 1 tsp of this juice 3 times
daily for a month.The symptoms of Piles are resolved in a month.

Blueberries

Blueberries are an effective remedy for treating Hemorrhoids. Blueberries, also known as Highbush Blueberries, Lowbush Blueberries, Half-high Blueberries or Rabbiteye Blueberries,
is easily available in the market.
Consume 1 cup of fresh Blueberries every day for 2 months. The symptoms of Hemorrhoids are reduced in 2 months.

Eggplant

You have to prepare an ointment, with 500 gr of pig fat and chopped 200 grams of eggplants.
Place them in a small pot, and this inside another bigger, in which we place water and we put them to boil during six hours.
Strain it and store in pots in the fridge.

Populus (or Poplar)

Cream for the hemorrhoids:
Gather the yolks of fair poplar before the bloom of the flowers.
Place 150 grams of poplar with 500 grams of shortening without salt in a recipient.
Put that recipient inside another.
At the one outside, place water and boil it during six hours.Strain and keep it in hermetic
flask in the fridge.Apply three times a day.

Purslane

Boil 250gms of Purslane leaves in 500 ml of water. Blend and strain the mixture. Drink the filtrate for relief from the symptoms of Piles. The Hemorrhoids are resolved in a month.
Purslane is used as a remedy for constipation, a causitive factor of Piles or hemorrhoids.

Garlic

Take 1 clove garlic, pound it thoroughly, then squeeze it to take the water. Apply on anus
every day until the desired results are achieved.

You can try these:

Lesser celandine (Ranunculus ficaria)

In Greece it is called zohadohorto, fikaria, sikoriza, sfourdakla or sfourdakela.
Part used is its root and it is collected in May and June. It acts as an astringent.
Its Greek name zohadohorto derives from zohada which means haemorrhoid because
the herb is used to cure haemorrhoids. It can be used internally or externally as a very
effective ointment. It is also an effective astringent.
Lesser celandine can be combined with plantago, calendula and agrimony to cure haemorrhoids internally.

Remedy is prepared as an infusion. Pour a cup of boiling water onto 1-2 teaspoonfuls of dried herb and leave it infuse for 10 minutes. Filter and drink 3 times per day. Tincture should be taken in a dose of 2-4 ml, 3 times a day.
If it is used as an ointment it should be prepared with vaseline base.

White Oak Bark

the active ingredients are tannin and quercin. Quercin is similar in effect to salicin (natural aspirin) and is used along with bioflavinoids to strengthen the capillaries and veins. White oak bark also contains ample amounts of calcium, manganese, potassium and magnesium. It is particularly good for stopping internal bleeding.
-Boil 1 teaspoon of White Oak bark in a cup of water. Drink this filtrate once daily for a month.
The symptoms of hemorrhoids are resolved in a month.
- Pour 1lt=1000ml upon 3 spoonfuls of dried bark ofOak branches and  leave it
for 10-15 min, covered,in order to release its substances.
Moisture a piece of cotton with this infusion and apply it every night on your sensitive area.
The rind of Oak branches is very styptic and healing

Pilewort

It is known for its ability to stop bleeding, and is used as a natural hemorrhoids remedy.
You can drink the extract of pilewort directly with tea or apply it as ointment to your
external skin.

Comfrey (Symphytum officinale).

Comfrey is rich in allantoin, a wound-healing chemical that is anti-inflammatory, stimulates
the immune system and hastens the formation of new skin. You can moisten powdered
comfrey with vegetable oil and apply the paste. Or you can pound the leaf to soften the
fuzzy hairs it’s covered with and apply the leaf itself, topically. You don’t have to worry
about washing it off, as the residue will come off the next time you shower

Plantain (Plantago, various species).

Plantain has a strong folk reputation as a hemorrhoid remedy. This herb contains allantoin, the same soothing compound found in comfrey. If I were caught in the bush with a hemorrhoid and without my Tucks, I’d create a poultice and apply it to the afflicted area.

Psyllium (Plantago ovata)

Psyllium works by absorbing water in the gut and swelling considerably, which adds bulk to
stool and triggers the muscle contractions we experience as “the urge.” If you use psyllium,
make sure you drink enough fluids. You should get at least eight (eight-ounce) glasses of
water or juice a day. And watch how you react to this herb if you have allergies. If allergic symptoms develop after you take it once, don’t use it again.

Witch hazel (Hamamelis virginiana).

Witch hazel is a soothing, cooling astringent that can help relieve hemorrhoidal pain and
itching. But you really don’t have to spend extra for a brand name. Simply make a compress using witch hazel, which is available at pharmacies for a much lower price. Just tuck a fresh compress in place whenever you feel the need for a little soothing. Then forget it’s there and
go about your business.

Chamomile

Chamomile soothes irritated tissue, reducing redness and itching. Boil chamomile in water,
then leave it for some time to get cold (I mean room temperature not freeze) and moisture cotton with it and leave it on the sensitive area for the night. It is anti -inflammating and relieving!

Aloe (Aloe vera).

Aloe gel is astringent and helps heal wounds. You might try applying it topically to the anal area. When ingested, aloe juice is laxative. India’s Ayurvedic physicians suggest drinking a half-cup of aloe juice three times a day until hemorrhoid flare-ups have cleared. You can buy aloe juice at most health food stores

Butcher’s broom (Ruscus acu-leatus).

This woody herb has a long history as a treatment for venous problems like hem-orrhoids and varicose veins. The plant contains chemicals called ruscogenins, which have anti-inflammatory and vasoconstricting properties. I’d try five rounded teaspoons of root in a cup of boiling water for internal consumption; you can sweeten the tea with honey. And for topical application, I’d use a tincture of the herb made with alcohol.

Horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum).

The bark of this tree contains several chemicals that help treat hemorrhoids. Aesculin and
aescin strengthen blood vessel walls, reducing the risk of further hemorrhoids. Other
chemicals in this herb have anti-inflammatory benefits.

The term hemorrhoids refers to a condition in which the veins around the anus or lower rectum are swollen and inflamed.

External Hemorrhoids

Internal Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids may result from straining to move stool. Other contributing factors include pregnancy, aging, chronic constipation or diarrhea, and anal intercourse.

Hemorrhoids are either inside the anus—internal—or under the skin around the anus—external.

What are the symptoms of hemorrhoids?

Many anorectal problems, including fissures, fistulae, abscesses, or irritation and itching, also called pruritus ani, have similar symptoms and are incorrectly referred to as hemorrhoids.

Hemorrhoids usually are not dangerous or life threatening. In most cases, hemorrhoidal symptoms will go away within a few days.

Although many people have hemorrhoids, not all experience symptoms. The most common symptom of internal hemorrhoids is bright red blood covering the stool, on toilet paper, or in the toilet bowl. However, an internal hemorrhoid may protrude through the anus outside the body, becoming irritated and painful. This is known as a protruding hemorrhoid.

Symptoms of external hemorrhoids may include painful swelling or a hard lump around the anus that results when a blood clot forms. This condition is known as a thrombosed external hemorrhoid.

In addition, excessive straining, rubbing, or cleaning around the anus may cause irritation with bleeding and/or itching, which may produce a vicious cycle of symptoms. Draining mucus may also cause itching.

How common are hemorrhoids?

Hemorrhoids are common in both men and women. About half of the population has hemorrhoids by age 50. Hemorrhoids are also common among pregnant women. The pressure of the fetus on the abdomen, as well as hormonal changes, cause the hemorrhoidal vessels to enlarge. These vessels are also placed under severe pressure during childbirth. For most women, however, hemorrhoids caused by pregnancy are a temporary problem.

How are hemorrhoids diagnosed?

A thorough evaluation and proper diagnosis by the doctor is important any time bleeding from the rectum or blood in the stool occurs. Bleeding may also be a symptom of other digestive diseases, including colorectal cancer.

The doctor will examine the anus and rectum to look for swollen blood vessels that indicate hemorrhoids and will also perform a digital rectal exam with a gloved, lubricated finger to feel for abnormalities.

Closer evaluation of the rectum for hemorrhoids requires an exam with an anoscope, a hollow, lighted tube useful for viewing internal hemorrhoids, or a proctoscope, useful for more completely examining the entire rectum.

To rule out other causes of gastrointestinal bleeding, the doctor may examine the rectum and lower colon, or sigmoid, with sigmoidoscopy or the entire colon with colonoscopy. Sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy are diagnostic procedures that also involve the use of lighted, flexible tubes inserted through the rectum.

What is the treatment?

Medical treatment of hemorrhoids is aimed initially at relieving symptoms.
Measures to reduce symptoms include: 

-Tub baths
several times a day in plain (or add salt), warm water for about 10 minutes

-Application of a hemorrhoidal cream or suppositoryto the affected area but  for a limited time

Preventing the recurrence of hemorrhoids will require relieving the pressure and straining of constipation. Doctors will often recommend increasing fiber and fluids in the diet.

Eating the right amount of fiber and drinking six to eight glasses of fluid—not alcohol—result in softer, bulkier stools. A softer stool makes emptying the bowels easier and lessens the pressure on hemorrhoids caused by straining. Eliminating straining also helps prevent the hemorrhoids from protruding.

Good sources of fiber are fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. In addition, doctors may suggest a bulk stool softener or a fiber supplement such as psyllium (Metamucil) or methylcellulose (Citrucel).

In some cases, hemorrhoids must be treated endoscopically or surgically. These methods are used to shrink and destroy the hemorrhoidal tissue. The doctor will perform the procedure during an office or hospital visit.

A number of methods may be used to remove or reduce the size of internal hemorrhoids. These techniques include

Rubber band ligation. A rubber band is placed around the base of the hemorrhoid inside the rectum. The band cuts off circulation, and the hemorrhoid withers away within a few days.

Sclerotherapy. A chemical solution is injected around the blood vessel to shrink the hemorrhoid.

Infrared coagulation. A special device is used to burn hemorrhoidal tissue.

Hemorrhoidectomy. Occasionally, extensive or severe internal or external hemorrhoids may require removal by surgery known as hemorrhoidectomy.

How are hemorrhoids prevented?

The best way to prevent hemorrhoids is to keep stools soft so they pass easily, thus decreasing pressure and straining, and to empty bowels as soon as possible after the urge occurs. Exercise, including walking, and increased fiber in the diet help reduce constipation and straining by producing stools that are softer and easier to pass.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               

I was an hemorrhoid sufferer

If you are reading me right now,you know exactly what I mean!

The pain,the blood,the itching was in my life day by day. I tried some of the ointments and creams with slight improvement,but no cure… .Keep in mind that I was in the pharmaceutical industry as a representative and I had relationships with dozens of doctors that all suggested something of the above but nothing more!
